Belturbet Comhaltas Branch in Cavan are hosting their 4th Feis Ceoil in St Bricin's College  & Fairgreen N.S Belturbet on Sunday 9th April 2017 with competitions in all Traditional instruments, Traditional Irish & English Singing & Comhrá Gaeilge.

We have a great line up of experienced  adjudicators for all competitions from under 8yrs to  under 15 years.

Competition Registration 10am -10.45 am with Solo competitions & Comhrá Gaeilge commencing @ 11am sharp.

A night of signing, reciting, music and story will take place in the Goods Store, Railway Station, Belturbet on Friday 10th October at 8pm.

One and all are welcome to what promises to be a mighty night of culture and craic in the unique Goods Store venue.




On the weekend of the 8th August boats from Heritage Boat Association will gather on the jetties in Belturbet. Waterways Ireland has offered assistance in creating sufficient space for the fleet On Saturday, August 9th

Festival of the Erne – Family Fun

Festival of the Erne starts on Thursday 31st July with the Voice of Ireland winner Brendan McCahey opening the festival along with this years Lady of the Erne winner.

On the night there will be all sorts of activities on the main street including a busking competition with our local comhaltas
BELTURBET COMHALTAS BRANCH – Busking Competition this Thursday July 31st Main Street, in advance of the Official Opening of the Festival. Children and adults – all abilities welcome, are welcome to take part in groups of 4 or less – remember please bring a stool! There will be the usual pub quizs and town talent in the pubs throughout the festival.
Friday sees us with a monster barn dance on main street with music by the very popular Sean LOUGHRAN. Bring your cowboy boots and stetson and join in the line dancing and fun on the night SEE YE ALL THERE PARTNERS!
Saturday we have a big family fun day in morrissey park with bouncy castles sumo wrestlers , b b q music and much much more! 
Sunday we have for the very first time ever a parade on the river Erne with all the local businesses being represented by a cruiser , this promises to be a sight not to be missed ! 
ALSO BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND IS THE FAMOUS PIG RACES. All the usual childrens events will be taking place as usual during the festival this year.
On the monday we will have the row boat racing once again and of course the famous fireworks that night bringing the festival to a close. We will be entertained on the night also by the Mountain road band who will parade the crowd down to Morrissey Park for the fireworks display. Looking forward to seeing everyone once again this year at our local festival, which is the longest running festival in the North West. SO COME ALONG ONCE AGAIN AND SUPPORT YOUR TOWN .
EXHIBITION ON OLD BELTURBET- As this is the 38th year of Belturbet Festival of the Erne and the 24th. The Lady of the Erne, an Exhibition on OLD BELTURBET will take place from Thursday July 31st in the Festival Office – during its opening hours. (see brochure for opening times of festival office). This exhibition will include photography, visual arts, and memorabilia. Anyone wishing to take part in this Exhibition with any of the items listed above, please Contact Peggy Gray @0873155130.
BELTURBET GOLF CLUB- in conjunction with Belturbet Festival of the Erne, will stage eight days of open golf from Sunday, July 27th – Sunday, August 3rd Open to everyone – ladies and Gents full hand/cap. Proceeds raised will go to (a) Erne Adult Social Club, (b) Belturbet Festival of the Erne and (c) Belturbet Golf Club. All welcome. No booking required – Enter at Clubhouse – Rules displayed. Belturbet Spring Parade – Easter Sunday

Each year Belturbet hosts a family day out during Easter with a fun Spring Parade through the town. The parade has grown and the last event had 70 entrants bringing a sense of fun and craic to the day. Music groups entertain the crowds and rare folk players the Fermanagh Mummers also known as “Strawmen”, bring tradition alive with sketches and tall tales. Definitely worth a look. The parade usually begins at 4pm in the main street, a great free family fun day out

Belturbet Carnival in the Park returns this year on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of July. Dance the weekend away under the tarpaulin of the 'Palais in the Park' Carnival Tent. Big Bands each night and of course the wedding of the year….. You'll never guess who's tying the knot!!!

31st July to 4th August 2014 Festival of the Erne in Belturbet in Co.Cavan is well known as one of the largest festivals of its kind in the region and hosts a programme of great variety for all the family. From pig racing to a bonny baby competition, the festival has something to offer everyone of all ages.



Kicking off with the Lady of the Erne Competition, there will be fun for all ages including a treasure hunt and kids fancy dress. Belturbet Christmas Craft Fair

Belturbet is home to a number of local producers of arts and crafts. We also have a range of foods produced from breads, cheeses, meats and jams. Every winter a Christmas fair is held the Goods Store at the Railway in Belturbet to showcase all this local talent and offer an opportunity to purchase some special gifts coming up to the holiday season. This years Fair will be held Sunday 24th November.

“Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick & The Darling Buds of May”

Ladies of Luck come to town…. Belturbet’s newly revamped Town Hall shall play host to an enchanting evening of music and felt word on Friday 13th June.

Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick, a local songstress and songpoetess returns with her freshly flowered trio “The Darling Buds Of” to paint the walls of the Belturbet’s newly rejuvenated Town Hall with harmonious charms and lyrical yarns, ahead of their
performance at Sea Sessions festival. The Darling Buds are: Orlaith Fitzpatrick on backing vocals (another of Belturbet’s fairest maids & voices) and Donegal’s Niamh Currid on Piano. Performing the songs of Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick, they shall also be rejoicing in a few old favorites to sweeten the wines and continue spreading the general goodness.The night will also feature some special guests, to include
poet Rebecca O’ Connor (The Moth magazine) and music from The Moth Electric aka Troll Schtenk (Robbie Perry & Tara Baoth Mooney) Guaranteed to bring you good luck!
